This book provides an introduction to and the essence of the theory and practice of Yoga as  codified in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. It demystifies Yoga through definitions and explanatory statements from various sources that complement , supplement, and occasionally correct each other. Some hints are given to bring the theory into practice in daily life. The flowering of Consciousness through the eight limbs of Yoga is likened to the flowering in a plant. An introductions to Vedanta as well as a glossary and an introductory book list is given for a fuller appreciation of the  background of Yoga.
